Crenshaw, Los Angeles Joins the CAMS Network

Destination Crenshaw

Focusing on a 1.3-mile stretch of Crenshaw Boulevard, the spine of Los Angeles, Destination Crenshaw is a 501c3 organization working to create a place to experience the most dynamic expression of Black America in the United States. This transformational infrastructure project combines long-deserved economic investment and strategic urban planning to create a thriving commercial corridor linked by community spaces and pocket parks with hundreds of newly planted trees, and over 100 commissioned artworks. We’re pleased to welcome Destination Crenshaw to our CAMS network!

CAMS Elects Blake Fisher as New Board Member at May Meeting

Congratulations and welcome Blake Fisher, Program Coordinator at Viva Downtown Redding to the CAMS Board of Directors. Blake manages the historic IOOF Hall, the oldest brick structure in Redding and serves as head of the Downtown Redding Business Group.

He also hosts Viva Downtown’s: Downtown Discussion podcast, writes “The Blakedown” column for the North State Lifestyle Magazine Enjoy Magazine, and currently serves as a Vice Chair of the Shasta Historical Society Board.

Blake’s passion for the Main Street mission, along with his experience in locally focused nonprofits, are valuable assets to our organization.

In Leucadia: Thank you, Brittany - Welcome Stacy!

After serving as the Executive Director of Leucadia 101 Main Street for a little over a year, Brittany Corrales, is taking the reins at a new local nonprofit and continuing her work planning community-focused special events.

Longtime Leucadia 101 Board Member Stacy Reddell will be stepping into the executive director role on an interim basis. Stacy is an inspirational small business owner who owns and operates the 101 Republic Clothing Company. She’s looking forward to working with her fellow downtown businesses to further the Main Street mission in Leucadia.

New leadership at Arcata Main Street

Arcata Main Street recently announced the departure of their longtime executive director, Shoshanna, known for her vibrant personality and colorful sense of style. Shoshanna stepped down in April after creating many wonderful events, and programs such as the Fairy Festival, ARTS! Arcata, Oyster Festival, The Downtown Arcata Ball, and Sunday Art Markets. She also helped independent vendors and "cottage" businesses grow and become part of the greater Arcata business community.

Arcata Main Street is a 100% volunteer-run organization relying heavily on its Board of Directors for operational support. In May, Arcata Main Street Board President Monica Munoz stepped down to take on the role of Interim Executive Director. Monica is also the event coordinator at the Eureka Theater and brings her experience in the entertainment industry as well as marketing and production to her work with Arcata Main Street. Coming from a food service background, she is very connected to Arcata’s local bars and restaurants and is an active Arcata Chamber of Commerce member.
