Dear CAMSA Community
CAMSA Quarterly | Summer 2021
By: Amanda Elliott, Senior Program Officer and Director of California Programs, Main Street America
We are already halfway through 2021! It’s amazing how quickly time flies when you’re doing commercial district revitalization work on Main Street. We are grateful to see some positive shifts in our downtowns with most of California opening! Many of our communities are beginning to host events—albeit events look a bit different than they did before the pandemic, which speaks to our great ability to adapt to meet the “moment.” We saw some of the most innovative and creative program shifts ever in 2020: digital marketing, ecommerce, virtual festivals, and online conferences were highlighted throughout the network. It’s great to see that some of these new program shifts and creative ideas will become permanent.
Big changes are on the horizon for CAMSA. Stay tuned for a new and improved California Main Street (CAMS) branding, logo, and website. We are excited continue to improve the services and benefits to our members and look forward to providing trainings, funding opportunities and special programs tailored to meet your needs.
We want to hear from you. Our monthly check-in meetings are the third Tuesday of the month at 11am. You will hear updates from the CAMS board, National Main Street, and your peers. Our check-in calls provide an excellent platform to share your ideas and hear from others doing this important work. Don’t miss the next meeting July 20th. Feel free to reach out to me to learn more about how you can get involved with CAMS and support us.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
In partnership,
Amanda Elliott
