Benicia Main Street's 15th Annual Scarecrow Contest featured an entry from One House Bakery that made national TV and print headlines. "Pan Solo," a life-sized version of Han Solo trapped in carbonite but made out of bread, was featured in many local and national news outlets including NYTimes, Today Show, and more. The project took about a month to complete and has attracted thousands of visitors to the windows of their First Street shop. Read More >
On October 22, Downtown Richmond’s Spirit & Soul Festival was held as a full in-person event for the first time since the pandemic and Richmond Main Street Initiatives’ brand new executive team rose to the occasion brilliantly. Richmond residents couldn't stop smiling, dancing, and sharing how happy they were to see the representation of their community, and how it was brought to life through music, food, and entertainment. A huge part of this year’s experience was the premier of two new components: a classic car show and an art gallery both hosted by downtown merchants. Read more >
The Pleasanton Downtown Association welcomed their new Executive Director, Bridget Karl on October 24. Bridget comes to the PDA with a wealth of experience and knowledge in both the non-profit and retail sectors. She served as the CEO of the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce for many years where she successfully grew the organization, developed and executed numerous events, worked closely with civic leaders and supported the members through networking and community events. There was a witchy invasion in Downtown Livermore last month! Several hundred shoppers descended on First Street in their best pointy hats and heels for the annual Witches Night Out. There were spooky treats, shopping discounts, a free tote bag and reserved seats at a downtown restaurant. The night also featured a hat contest, photo booth, witchy yoga warm up and more, all hosted by Livermore Downtown, Inc. Tickets for the event sold out in a matter of days! With support from the Hollister Downtown Association, the City of Hollister celebrated their 150th Anniversary with a series of summer events. There were commemorative flags raised, a downtown parade, carnival rides and a time capsule unveiling. On the evening of the 6th, a Sesquicentennial Gala Dinner was held at the Veterans Memorial Building. Happy 150th birthday Hollister! Read more >
