Cardiff 101 Main Street Association appeared in Newsweek! The article profiles the community’s iconic “Cardiff Kook” statue and a new book of photography celebrating it. In addition to containing a brief history of the public art piece and over 90 photographs documenting 14 years of eclectic guerilla art installations on the statue, proceeds from sales of The Cardiff Kook And His Magic Carpet Ride will benefit the local business community. The Carlsbad Village Association is storytelling in the sky with the launch of a new, year-round banner program. In partnership with the City of Carlsbad and local photographers, 78 new colorful banners were installed in the Downtown area and other parts of the Village in January. The vibrant banners feature images of the area’s iconic outdoor activities, natural wonders, retail destinations, and culinary scene, as well as messages to shop and dine local. See the banners!


On December 15, 2021, a vibrant mural honoring civil rights activist Dolores Huerta was unveiled in Downtown Coachella. The city-sponsored celebration welcomed residents and local leaders to gather downtown to enjoy food, live music, remarks from Ms. Huerta. The event also offered an opportunity for the community to recognize and reflect on Coachella Valley’s role in the farm worker and immigrant rights movement, past and present. Through Phase 3 of the Oceanside Small Business Grant Program, MainStreet Oceanside recently awarded 46 grants funded by the City of Oceanside to downtown businesses. Totaling $108,000, the grants ranged from $1,000 - $4,000 based on business tier and financial impact of COVID-19. With this latest round of grants, the program has distributed 174 awards totaling $425,500. See the full list of recipients
